Kaolin Clay For Adhesives

Due to low cost and excellent reinforcing properties, kaolin clays are commonly used as extenders in adhesives and sealants.

There are a variety of different particle sizes, forms and surface treatments from which to choose. Water-washed kaolin clays are pH neutral and, acid and alkaline resistant. With a low Moh’s hardness, water washed kaolin is not abrasive to equipment. The platy nature of kaolin clay imparts improved settling resistance (compared to common calcium carbonate fillers).
